We were lucky and unlucky during the start of the winter holiday.
We planned to go driving to Switzerland at around 9:00, however since the German weather forecast was giving off a weather alarm (hurricane and loads of snow), we decided to leave early at 6:00 am (which meant for me no wow-dailies).
Halfway through Germany we suddenly noticed that the car was very wind-sensitive and Klara saw something flying off the roof… Rene was driving at the time, and made an emergency stop at the side of the highway (no idea what the English word for that is). While stopping, one of the ski-shoes was launched from the ski-box (which had apparently popped open while driving). Luckily it bounced to the side and into the grass…
Total loss: two ski-trousers, some covers for the front window of the car, and some nerves
Still, we did not get into any bad weather nor any traffic jams, so that was lucky I guess.

After re securing the ski box (no idea how it could have popped open), we continued our journey.
As usual we stayed at my fathers bother in Kloten (near Zurich). The next day, we discovered that our back light was not working, so I replaced it… bloody tricky at -8 I can tell you… so yeah, it works, but some plastic parts did come off the light… we have to see when we get back what that damage will be.

When we arrived in Flims (see www.laax.ch) we put the baggage in the house (that was still being cleaned) and started out to do some shopping (ski trousers). I got mine, but Rene was not successful in obtaining a pair.
So today we will be trying some shops (near the slopes) that might be open, in order to get him a pair too.

Back in the house, after the shopping, I tried to get the internet working. First problem: I forgot the special power cords they use here. Most small devices have euro plugs that work fine, but my laptop uses one of those larger plugs found in the Netherlands and Belgium. These do not fit into the Swiss system…
So back to the shops, that proved to be closed at 16:00 (it was now close to 17:00), so I got me an extension calbe and some insulation tape from the supermarket. Back in the house I tried to connect the plug to the extension cord, and found that I could saw off a part of plastic (with a string kitchen knife) so I could wrestle the plug in there It works… Using the tape to cover the gaps…

Then the internet… It was not switched on at the provider, so after some calls (its Saturday evening sir… etc) and a lot of patience the internet was functional.

Well, let’s go skiing now…

A very nice weekend away to Wemeldingen (a small place in Zeeland).

Together with my friends (Ferry, Marsha, Johan, Linda and Elbert) we had a great time.

Time has passed and there have been some interesing events that I failed to write about.

First things first. One of my best friends got secretly married. He invited ‘us’ under the guise of a party, and got married.

So I failed to blog for a while… Well I hope I’ll be able to blog some more from now on…

The car was quite some trouble, but after it had been to the shop for 2 days, they finally fixed the centering censor of the steeringwheel (it used to pull to the right instead of the center). But now it is fixed, and I start to like the car again.

Als I was invited to the wedding of Lyanna and Aginor, and I must say that it was a beautiful wedding indead! Perfect! I whish them all the best!

I also picked up wow again, and must say I joined a great guild.
